The peak is a contemporary dining chair that is sleek yet functioncal. The geometrical shapes introduce a playful element that is bounded by a tension fit back rest. The protruded triangular profiles are not only aesthetically intruiging but also serve as a funtion to hang objects. The chair is inspired from steam bending explorations.
During my experimentations with ash wood, I came up with various patterns using the different angles on the miter gauge and blades of the table saw. After the introduction to steam bending, I was curious to see how the negative spaces would react to the bending of wood.
